Samsung Galaxy S8 (2017) vs Nokia 3.1 (2018/2019)

Analysis:

The Samsung Galaxy S8+ (2017) is a great Smartphone for its $354 asking price.

The Nokia 3.1 (2018), however, is merely passable at its $219 price point. If you're considering buying a Smartphone in the $240 range, you might want to check out some of its competitors.

The Samsung Galaxy S8+ (2017) was highly praised by reviewers from numerous sources that perform their own objective hands-on testing, including Android Central, Reviewed, Techradar, GadgetMatch, and Android Authority. It did great in their roundups - it was dubbed "Top Pick" by Android Central, "Top Pick" by Reviewed, and "Best Samsung phone battery" by Techradar. That alone makes it at least worth considering.

Moving on to the Nokia 3.1 (2018): it was unable to reach the very top of any roundups from sources that conduct reliable and unbiased testing. Nonetheless, it still managed to impress reviewers from a number of such sites, like Android Central, Expert Reviews, slashgear.com, Techradar, GSMArena, and Wirecutter (NYTimes), enough for them to include them on those lists.

When we thoroughly analyzed their review scores, we learned that all of the sources that tested both Smartphones, including Expert Reviews, GSMArena, Techradar, slashgear.com, and Digitaltrends, preferred the Samsung Galaxy S8+ (2017) over the Nokia 3.1 (2018).

We also took a look at which sources they managed to impress the most. The Samsung Galaxy S8+ (2017) was liked best by TrustedReviews, which gave it a score of 10, while the Nokia 3.1 (2018) got its highest, 7, score from Android Central.

Lastly, in order to better compare them to their competition, we averaged out their review scores and found that the Samsung Galaxy S8+ (2017) got received considerably better than the majority of other Smartphones - it earned an average of 9.0 out of 10 points, compared to the 7.5 overall rating of other Smartphones - while the Nokia 3.1 (2018) performed worse than most of its competitors, with its average review score of 5.7.

It's worth keeping in mind, however, that a direct Samsung Galaxy S8+ (2017) vs. Nokia 3.1 (2018) comparison might not be realistic since they're priced differently and some sources have a tendency to review more expensive products better than cheaper ones.
