Panasonic ErgoFit In-Ears vs Klipsch Reference x6i

Analysis:

The Panasonic ErgoFit RP-HJE120 (2013) is a great Canal Earphone for its $9 asking price.

The Klipsch Reference x6i, however, is merely passable at its $159 price point. If you're considering buying a Canal Earphone in the $200 range, you might want to check out some of its competitors.

The Panasonic ErgoFit RP-HJE120 (2013) has managed to do great in various roundups conducted by reviewers from highly trusted sources that perform objective in-depth testing, like CNET, Rtings, SoundGuys, and Tom's Guide - it was dubbed "Best wired earbuds under $10" by CNET, "Cheapest Earbuds With Decent Performance" by Rtings, and "Bang for your Buck" by SoundGuys. Any product that's held in such high regard by some of the most reliable sources should be considered by everyone who's looking for a Canal Earphone at this price.

As for the Klipsch Reference x6i, it wasn't able to earn a top spot in any roundups from trusted sources that conduct their own hands-on testing. Nevertheless, it managed to impress reviewers at Techradar, PCmag, and Wirecutter (NYTimes) enough to make it onto their respective shortlists.

We couldn't find any sources that tested both of these Canal Earphones, so we only analyzed how they performed in reviews from different sites.

We first examined which sources rated each of these best and found that the Panasonic ErgoFit RP-HJE120 (2013) got its highest, 8, rating from CNET, while the Klipsch Reference x6i earned its best, 9, score from Techradar.

Lastly, in order to better compare them to the rest of their competition, we averaged out their review scores. The Klipsch Reference x6i managed to get 8.5 out of 10 - considerably better than the 7.4 review average of Canal Earphones in general - whereas the Panasonic ErgoFit RP-HJE120 (2013) earned 7.2 points.

It should be said that doing a direct Panasonic ErgoFit RP-HJE120 (2013) vs. Klipsch Reference x6i comparison might not be entirely fair due to the difference in their prices - some sources don't put much weight on value for money and thus tend to give better review scores to more expensive products.
