Fujifilm X-H Cameras (2018) vs Panasonic Lumix G__ series Cameras (2017)

Analysis:

While the Fujifilm X-H1 (2018) wasn't able to make it to the very top of any roundups from sources that perform quality hands-on testing, it still got featured in a large number of them. Digital Camera World, hardwarezone.com.sg, TrustedReviews, Techradar, Photography Blog, PCmag, shotkit.com, Digital Photography Review, and camerajabber.com have all deemed it worthy of a place on their respective shortlists.

As for the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G85 (2017), it was really well-received by reviewers at Wirecutter (NYTimes), a reliable source that's known for conducting its own, high-quality, in-depth testing. It performed great in its "For All-Star Kids Sports Photos, Ditch Your Smartphone" roundup and was named its "Midrange excellence", which, on its own, makes it a product that warrants a closer look.

We examined all of the review data that we could find and first took a look at sources that reviewed both of them, like Techradar, Photography Blog, and Pocket-lint, and found that they haven't shown a preference for either product.

Then we checked which sources liked these two Mirrorless Cameras best and found that the Fujifilm X-H1 (2018) got its highest, 10, review score from reviewers at Digital Camera World, whereas the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G85 (2017) earned its best score of 9 from Pocket-lint.

Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other Mirrorless Cameras on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by Mirrorless Cameras being 7.9 out of 10, whereas the Fujifilm X-H1 (2018) and Panasonic Lumix DMC-G85 (2017) managed averages of 8.9 and 8.5 points, respectively.

Due to the difference in their prices, however, it's important to keep in mind that a direct Fujifilm X-H1 (2018) vs. Panasonic Lumix DMC-G85 (2017) comparison might not be entirely fair - some sources don't take value for money into account when assigning their scores and therefore have a tendency to rate more premium products better.
