The Alps Mountaineering Lynx 3-Person Tent (2012) was well-received by reviewers at Popular Mechanics, a trustworthy source that performs unbiased hands-on testing. It did great in their "Best Motorcycle Camping Gear" roundup - they named it their "Best Budget One-Person Tent", which, by itself, suggests that it's a noteworthy product.
Taking a look at the River Country Products Trekker 2-Person Tent (2019), we found that it hasn't managed to perform well enough to earn a spot in any Backpacking Tent roundups done by sources that conduct their own, high-quality, hands-on testing. That alone makes it difficult to recommend.
Lastly, we tried to do a direct Alps Mountaineering Lynx 3-Person Tent (2012) vs. River Country Products Trekker 2-Person Tent (2019) comparison of review ratings between these two products, but couldn't find any review scores for the River Country Products Trekker 2-Person Tent (2019).
Compared to all other Backpacking Tent on the market, however, the Alps Mountaineering Lynx 3-Person Tent (2012) performed great. When averaged out, it earned a rating of 8.0 out of 10, which is much better than the 6.2 review average of Backpacking Tent in general.
