Western Digital Black SN750 SSD vs Samsung 860 Pro Series SSDs

Analysis:

The Western Digital SSD Black SN750 250GB makes for an outstanding Internal SSD at $54. The Samsung SSD 860 Pro 1TB, however, while overall a good product for its asking price, doesn't quite manage to stand out from its competition - there are better Internal SSDs that can be found for around $280 available here.

The Western Digital SSD Black SN750 250GB was loved by reviewers at PCmag, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "The Best SSDs for Upgrading Your Laptop in 2020" roundup where it was named its "Best for Hardcore Gamers, Media Editors", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.

As for our analysis of the Samsung SSD 860 Pro 1TB - it's considered to be a great product by two reliable sources that do their own hands-on testing - it earned the "Best Prosumer SATA SSD" award from Tom's Hardware and "The best SATA SSD is cheaper than you think" from Techradar, which is no small feat.

When we thoroughly analyzed their review scores, we learned that all of the sources that tested both Internal SSDs, including Techradar, PCWorld, and PCmag, preferred the Western Digital SSD Black SN750 250GB over the Samsung SSD 860 Pro 1TB.

We also took a look at which sources they managed to impress the most. The Western Digital SSD Black SN750 250GB was liked best by Techradar, which gave it a score of 10, while the Samsung SSD 860 Pro 1TB got its highest, 9, score from Techradar.

Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other Internal SSDs on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by Internal SSDs being 7.8 out of 10, whereas the Western Digital SSD Black SN750 250GB and Samsung SSD 860 Pro 1TB managed averages of 8.6 and 8.0 points, respectively.

Due to the difference in their prices, however, it's important to keep in mind that a direct Western Digital SSD Black SN750 250GB vs. Samsung SSD 860 Pro 1TB comparison might not be entirely fair - some sources don't take value for money into account when assigning their scores and therefore have a tendency to rate more premium products better.
