Adata SU750 Series SSDs vs Samsung 970 EVO Series SSDs

Analysis:

The Adata SU750 512GB is an example of a great Internal SSD at its $65 budget.

In the case of the Samsung SSD 970 EVO 1TB, however, we weren't able to find enough data to come to any reliable conclusions.

The Adata SU750 512GB was loved by reviewers at PCmag, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "The Best SSDs for Upgrading Your Laptop in 2020" roundup where it was named its "Best for Seekers of High Write Durability in SATA", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.

Returning to the Samsung SSD 970 EVO 1TB, PCmag, a source that's known for its high-quality in-depth testing, has great things to say about it. In fact, it was named its "Best for Raw Performance" in its "The Best SSDs for Upgrading Your Laptop in 2020" roundup, which is quite a feat.

We conducted an analysis of all of the review data that we could find on these two products. First, we focused on sources that tested and rated both of them, like PCmag and Tom's Hardware, and learned that they all showed a preference for the Samsung SSD 970 EVO 1TB.

Then we took a look at the highest review scores that these two Internal SSDs received. We found that the Adata SU750 512GB managed to earn a rating of 8 from PCmag, whereas the Samsung SSD 970 EVO 1TB got its highest, 10, score from reviewers at Techradar.

Finally, we calculated their average review scores from all of the data we could find and compared those to Internal SSDs in general. It turns out that the Samsung SSD 970 EVO 1TB, with its 8.0 average, got reviewed considerably better than most of its competition - the overall average for Internal SSDs being 7.8 out of 10 points - whereas the Adata SU750 512GB performed worse than most, with an average review score of 6.7.

However, it's worth pointing out that a direct Adata SU750 512GB vs. Samsung SSD 970 EVO 1TB comparison might not be entirely fair, because some sources have a tendency of not taking value for money into account when reviewing products.
