The Samsung 850 EVO 2.5" 500GB and Samsung SSD 970 EVO 500GB make for very strong choices and are great Internal SSDs for their respective $149 and $99 asking prices. Depending on how much you're willing to spend, either of these options will serve you well.

The Samsung 850 EVO 2.5" 500GB was loved by reviewers at Laptop Mag, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "The Best Newegg Deals" roundup where it was named its "Ranked 1 out of 5", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.

As for the Samsung SSD 970 EVO 500GB, it was really well-received by reviewers at PCmag, a reliable source that's known for conducting its own, high-quality, in-depth testing. It performed great in its "The Best Cheap SSDs for 2020" roundup and was named its "Best for Cash-Conscious Creative Professionals", which, on its own, makes it a product that warrants a closer look.

Out of the sources that tested and rated both of these Internal SSDs, TechSpot preferred the Samsung 850 EVO 2.5" 500GB, whereas reviewers at Techradar and PCmag liked the Samsung SSD 970 EVO 500GB better. TrustedReviews and PCWorld gave them identical review scores.

We also took a look at which sources liked these products best - the highest Samsung 850 EVO 2.5" 500GB rating came from TechSpot, whereas the Samsung SSD 970 EVO 500GB most impressed reviewers at Techradar; they earned scores of 9.2 and 10, respectively.
