The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro (2020) is a great Smartphone for its $219 asking price.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 (2017), on the other hand, is not worth its $289 price tag and should be avoided by most people. We strongly suggest that you take a look at some better alternatives if you're considering spending around $340 on a Smartphone.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro (2020) has managed to impress reviewers from two reliable and objective sources that conduct their own testing, namely Android Authority and Android Central. It did great in their roundups - it earned the "Ranked 1 out of 6" title from Android Authority, and "Ranked 1 out of 4" from Android Central, which marks it as a product that's worth considering.
As for the Samsung Galaxy S8 (2017) - it impressed reviewers from a large number of trusted sources that are known for their reliable hands-on testing, including Phandroid, slashgear.com, Techradar, MakeUseOf, GadgetMatch, Gear Patrol, Popular Mechanics, Android Central, 9to5Google, and The Verge. It performed great in their respective roundups - it got named "Top Pick" by Phandroid, "Best Samsung phone #5" by slashgear.com, and "Best Samsung phone battery" by Techradar. Such endorsement from trusted sources marks it as a product that's worthy of consideration.
Out of the sources that tested and rated both of these Smartphones, techadvisor.com preferred the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro (2020), whereas reviewers at TrustedReviews, PhoneArena, and Techradar liked the Samsung Galaxy S8 (2017) better. Expert Reviews gave them identical review scores.
We also took a look at which sources liked these products best - the highest Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro (2020) rating came from Expert Reviews, whereas the Samsung Galaxy S8 (2017) most impressed reviewers at Expert Reviews; they earned scores of 10 and 10, respectively.
Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other Smartphones on the market.
