ZVOX SB500 vs Samsung HW-A550

The ZVOX SB500 is a great Soundbar for its $429 asking price.

The Samsung HW-A550, however, is merely passable at its $209 price point. If you're considering buying a Soundbar in the $240 range, you might want to check out some of its competitors.

The ZVOX SB500 was loved by reviewers at CNET, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "Best Soundbars to Fix Muffled TV Speech" roundup where it was named its "Ranked 1 out of 5", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.

As for the Samsung HW-A550 - it wasn't considered to be a good enough purchase to earn a spot in any roundups conducted by sources that perform objective hands-on testing, which typically indicates that a product isn't worth its asking price.

Lastly, we tried to do a direct ZVOX SB500 vs. Samsung HW-A550 comparison of review ratings between these two products, but couldn't find any review scores for the Samsung HW-A550.

Compared to all other Soundbars on the market, however, the ZVOX SB500 performed great. When averaged out, it earned a rating of 8.0 out of 10, which is much better than the 7.6 review average of Soundbars in general.
