Sennheiser GSP 600 (2018) vs JBL Quantum 800

Analysis:

The Sennheiser GSP 600 makes for a good, if unremarkable, Gaming Headset for people with a $80 budget.

The JBL Quantum 800, however, is merely mediocre at its $199 asking price, when compared to similarly priced products, and won't satisfy the needs of most people.

In either case, we suggest that you first take a look at some other options at the $80 and $150 price points before committing to one of these - it's likely that you'll be able to find some better alternatives.

If you're still interested in learning more about the Sennheiser GSP 600 and JBL Quantum 800, however, we wrote a summary of what we could find about them:

The Sennheiser GSP 600 was loved by reviewers at Eurogamer, a trustworthy source that performs objective hands-on testing. It did great in their "Best gaming headset 2023 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Switch" roundup - in fact, they named it their "Best tough gaming headphones". That, by itself, points toward it being a noteworthy Gaming Headset.

Returning to the JBL Quantum 800, CNET, a source that's known for its high-quality in-depth testing, has great things to say about it. In fact, it was named its "Best wireless noise canceling" in its "Best PS4 Gaming Headset for 2022" roundup, which is quite a feat.

We conducted an analysis of all of the review data that we could find on these two products. First, we focused on sources that tested and rated both of them, like Headphone Review and Tom's Guide, and learned that they all showed a preference for the JBL Quantum 800.

Then we took a look at the highest review scores that these two Gaming Headsets received. We found that the Sennheiser GSP 600 managed to earn a rating of 9 from PC Gamer, whereas the JBL Quantum 800 got its highest, 8.4, score from reviewers at Headphone Review.

Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other Gaming Headsets on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by Gaming Headsets being 7.2 out of 10, whereas the Sennheiser GSP 600 and JBL Quantum 800 managed averages of 7.8 and 7.4 points, respectively.

Due to the difference in their prices, however, it's important to keep in mind that a direct Sennheiser GSP 600 vs. JBL Quantum 800 comparison might not be entirely fair - some sources don't take value for money into account when assigning their scores and therefore have a tendency to rate more premium products better.
