Bose QuietComfort 25 (2014) vs Sennheiser HD 25

Analysis:

The Bose QuietComfort 25 (2014) and Sennheiser HD 25 make for very strong choices and are great Closed-Back Headphones for their respective $299 and $149 asking prices. Depending on how much you're willing to spend, either of these options will serve you well.

The Bose QuietComfort 25 (2014) has managed to impress reviewers from some of the most highly trusted sources on the internet, including Tom's Guide and Rtings. It performed great in their in-depth hands-on roundups - it was awarded the "Excellent noise cancellation for cheap" title by Tom's Guide and "Runner Up for Best Over-Ear Noise Cancelling Headphones Under $200 - Wired Alternative With Better Noise Isolation" by Rtings in their respective Closed-Back Headphone roundups. That's high praise, especially when coming from such high-quality sources.

As for the Sennheiser HD 25 - it was really well-received by reviewers at SoundGuys, a great source that's known for conducting high-quality in-depth testing. It performed great in its "Best DJ headphones" roundup and was named its "Best all-around", which, on its own, makes it a product that warrants a closer look.

Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other Closed-Back Headphones on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by Closed-Back Headphones being 7.4 out of 10, whereas the Bose QuietComfort 25 (2014) and Sennheiser HD 25 managed averages of 8.7 and 7.6 points, respectively.

Due to the difference in their prices, however, it's important to keep in mind that a direct Bose QuietComfort 25 (2014) vs. Sennheiser HD 25 comparison might not be entirely fair - some sources don't take value for money into account when assigning their scores and therefore have a tendency to rate more premium products better.
