Shure SE112 (2014) vs Klipsch Reference x6i

Analysis:

The Shure SE112 (2014) is a relatively good Earphone for people that are willing to spend around $50. The Klipsch Reference x6i, by contrast, is quite unremarkable and doesn't stand out in any meaningful way from other products at this price point.

In both cases, however, we recommend that you take look at some other options at the $50 and $110 budget ranges; in all likelihood you'll find some better alternatives.

If you're still interested in learning more about the Shure SE112 (2014) and Klipsch Reference x6i, however, we wrote a summary of what we know about them:

The Shure SE112 (2014) was loved by reviewers at SoundGuys, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "Best earbuds under $50" roundup where it was named its "Best Sound", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.

Taking a look at the Klipsch Reference x6i, it got featured in roundups from two reliable sources that conduct their own testing - Techradar and PCmag - but it fell short of earning a top spot in either.

We conducted an analysis of all of the review data that we could find on these two products. First, we focused on sources that tested and rated both of them, like Techradar, and learned that they all showed a preference for the Klipsch Reference x6i.

Then we took a look at the highest review scores that these two Earphones received. We found that the Shure SE112 (2014) managed to earn a rating of 9 from Digitaltrends, whereas the Klipsch Reference x6i got its highest, 9, score from reviewers at Techradar.

Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other Earphones on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by Earphones being 7.3 out of 10, whereas the Shure SE112 (2014) and Klipsch Reference x6i managed averages of 7.8 and 8.3 points, respectively.

Due to the difference in their prices, however, it's important to keep in mind that a direct Shure SE112 (2014) vs. Klipsch Reference x6i comparison might not be entirely fair - some sources don't take value for money into account when assigning their scores and therefore have a tendency to rate more premium products better.
