Shure SE112 (2014) vs TONEKING T88K
The reviewers at Head-fi have featured the TONEKING T88K in their TONEKING T88K roundup. However, it fell short of making it to the top of their list.
Returning to the Shure SE112 (2014), Consumer Reports, a source that's known for its high-quality in-depth testing, has great things to say about it. In fact, it was named its "Best Cheap Wired Earbuds" in its "Best Headphones for Under $50" roundup, which is quite a feat.
When we thoroughly analyzed their review scores, we learned that all of the sources that tested both In-Ear Monitors, including Head-fi, preferred the TONEKING T88K over the Shure SE112 (2014).
We also took a look at which sources they managed to impress the most. The TONEKING T88K was liked best by Head-fi, which gave it a score of 10, while the Shure SE112 (2014) got its highest, 9, score from AVForums.
Finally, we compared them to other In-Ear Monitors on the market and found that the two of them got reviewed similarly to the majority of their competitors. The overall average review score for In-Ear Monitors in general is 7.7 out of 10, whereas the TONEKING T88K and Shure SE112 (2014) managed averages of 10.0 and 7.6 points, respectively.
It should be noted that it might not be entirely fair to do a direct TONEKING T88K vs. Shure SE112 (2014) comparison due to the difference in their pricing; some sources have a tendency to review more premium products better than more affordable ones.
