Samsung 850 EVO Series SSDs vs Silicon Power P34A80 Internal SSD

Analysis:

The Samsung 850 EVO 2.5" 500GB is a great Internal SSD for its $149 asking price.

The Silicon Power P34A80 1TB, however, while a reasonable product for $129, doesn't stack up against its competitors quite as well. If you're considering Internal SSDs in the $100 range, you might want to check out some better options.

The Samsung 850 EVO 2.5" 500GB was loved by reviewers at Laptop Mag, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "The Best Newegg Deals" roundup where it was named its "Ranked 1 out of 5", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.

As for the Silicon Power P34A80 1TB analysis - it impressed reviewers at Tom's Hardware, a source that's known for its objective testing and well-thought-out methodology - it performed great in its "Best SSDs 2020: From Budget SATA to Blazing-Fast NVMe" roundup and earned the "Best 1TB (or Larger) Value M.2 SSD" title.

We couldn't find any sources that tested both of these Internal SSDs, so we only analyzed how they performed in reviews from different sites.

We first examined which sources rated each of these best and found that the Samsung 850 EVO 2.5" 500GB got its highest, 9.2, rating from TechSpot, while the Silicon Power P34A80 1TB earned its best, 8, score from Tom's Hardware.

Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other Internal SSDs on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by Internal SSDs being 7.8 out of 10, whereas the Samsung 850 EVO 2.5" 500GB and Silicon Power P34A80 1TB managed averages of 8.5 and 8.0 points, respectively.

Due to the difference in their prices, however, it's important to keep in mind that a direct Samsung 850 EVO 2.5" 500GB vs. Silicon Power P34A80 1TB comparison might not be entirely fair - some sources don't take value for money into account when assigning their scores and therefore have a tendency to rate more premium products better.
