Western Digital Black SN750 SSD vs Silicon Power P34A80 Internal SSD

Analysis:

The Western Digital SSD Black SN750 500GB is one of the very best products at its price point and should be considered by anyone willing to spend around $70 on a Internal SSD.

The Silicon Power P34A80 256GB, on the other hand, is mediocre at its $45 asking price and should be avoided by the majority of people. If you're interested in some alternatives at its price, we suggest looking at some better options in the $50 range.

The Western Digital SSD Black SN750 500GB was loved by reviewers at PCmag, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "The Best PCI Express NVMe Solid State Drives (SSDs) for 2020" roundup where it was named its "Best for Hardcore Gamers, Media Editors", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.

As for the Silicon Power P34A80 256GB - Tom's Hardware, a source that conducts reliable hands-on testing, has featured it in its Silicon Power P34A80 PCIe Gen3x4 M.2 NVMe SSD Review: TLC Performance at QLC Prices roundup. However, it didn't make it to any of the top spots.

We examined all of the review data that we could find and first took a look at sources that reviewed both of them, like Tom's Hardware, and found that they haven't shown a preference for either product.

Then we checked which sources liked these two Internal SSDs best and found that the Western Digital SSD Black SN750 500GB got its highest, 10, review score from reviewers at Techradar, whereas the Silicon Power P34A80 256GB earned its best score of 8 from Tom's Hardware.

Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other Internal SSDs on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by Internal SSDs being 7.8 out of 10, whereas the Western Digital SSD Black SN750 500GB and Silicon Power P34A80 256GB managed averages of 8.8 and 8.0 points, respectively.

Due to the difference in their prices, however, it's important to keep in mind that a direct Western Digital SSD Black SN750 500GB vs. Silicon Power P34A80 256GB comparison might not be entirely fair - some sources don't take value for money into account when assigning their scores and therefore have a tendency to rate more premium products better.
