Vizio P-Series Quantum (2019) vs Sony A8 series (2019)
The Vizio 65" P-Series Quantum (2019) was loved by reviewers at Gear Patrol, a trustworthy source that performs objective hands-on testing. It did great in their "The 5 Best Early Black Friday Tech Deals from Amazon" roundup - in fact, they named it their "Ranked 1 out of 5". That, by itself, points toward it being a noteworthy TV.
As for the Sony A8 55" (2019), it wasn't able to earn a top spot in any roundups from trusted sources that conduct their own hands-on testing. Nevertheless, it managed to impress reviewers at Techradar, Rtings, and PCmag enough to make it onto their respective shortlists.
We conducted an analysis of all of the review data that we could find on these two products. First, we focused on sources that tested and rated both of them, like Rtings, and learned that they all showed a preference for the Sony A8 55" (2019).
Then we took a look at the highest review scores that these two TVs received. We found that the Vizio 65" P-Series Quantum (2019) managed to earn a rating of 7.8 from Rtings, whereas the Sony A8 55" (2019) got its highest, 9, score from reviewers at Techradar.
Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other TVs on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by TVs being 7.7 out of 10, whereas the Vizio 65" P-Series Quantum (2019) and Sony A8 55" (2019) managed averages of 7.8 and 8.4 points, respectively.
Due to the difference in their prices, however, it's important to keep in mind that a direct Vizio 65" P-Series Quantum (2019) vs. Sony A8 55" (2019) comparison might not be entirely fair - some sources don't take value for money into account when assigning their scores and therefore have a tendency to rate more premium products better.
