The Sony WH-1000XM3 (2018) makes for an outstanding Closed-Back Headphone at $227. The Power Acoustik HP-902RFT, however, while overall a good product for its asking price, doesn't quite manage to stand out from its competition - there are better Closed-Back Headphones that can be found for around $45 available here.
The Sony WH-1000XM3 (2018) has done great in quite a few roundups from some of the most highly trusted sources available, such as Tom's Guide, Laptop Mag, CNET, and SoundGuys, which perform high-quality in-depth testing. It got awarded the "Best Sony headphones overall" title by Tom's Guide, "Excellent sound paired with great noise cancelling" by Laptop Mag, and "Best of previous generation" by CNET in their respective roundups. Earning that much praise from such respected sources is undoubtedly an impressive accomplishment.
As for the Power Acoustik HP-902RFT, it was really well-received by reviewers at Wirecutter (NYTimes), a reliable source that's known for conducting its own, high-quality, in-depth testing. It performed great in its "The Best Wireless TV Headphones" roundup and was named its "Top Pick", which, on its own, makes it a product that warrants a closer look.
Lastly, we tried to do a direct Sony WH-1000XM3 (2018) vs. Power Acoustik HP-902RFT comparison of review ratings between these two products, but couldn't find any review scores for the Power Acoustik HP-902RFT.
Compared to all other Closed-Back Headphones on the market, however, the Sony WH-1000XM3 (2018) performed great. When averaged out, it earned a rating of 9.0 out of 10, which is much better than the 7.4 review average of Closed-Back Headphones in general.
