Skullcandy Riff Wireless vs Sony WH-CH700

Analysis:

The Skullcandy Riff Wireless is a great Wireless Headphone for its $39 asking price.

The Sony WH-CH700N, however, while a reasonable product for $128, doesn't stack up against its competitors quite as well. If you're considering Wireless Headphones in the $120 range, you might want to check out some better options.

The Skullcandy Riff Wireless was loved by reviewers at PCmag, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "The Best Cheap Earbuds and Headphones (Under $50)" roundup where it was named its "Best for Bass Fans on a Budget", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.

As for the Sony WH-CH700N, it was really well-received by reviewers at SoundGuys, a reliable source that's known for conducting its own, high-quality, in-depth testing. It performed great in its "Best Sony headphones" roundup and was named its "Ranked 2 out of 5", which, on its own, makes it a product that warrants a closer look.

We couldn't find any sources that tested both of these Wireless Headphones, so we only analyzed how they performed in reviews from different sites.

We first examined which sources rated each of these best and found that the Skullcandy Riff Wireless got its highest, 8, rating from Android Central, while the Sony WH-CH700N earned its best, 8, score from What Hi-Fi?.

Lastly, we averaged out all of their review ratings and observed that the Skullcandy Riff Wireless, with its 7.5 average, performed considerably better than most Wireless Headphones - the mean score for the product category being 7.3 out of 10 - while the Sony WH-CH700N managed an average of 7.3.

There's one caveat here - it might not be entirely justifiable to do a direct Skullcandy Riff Wireless vs. Sony WH-CH700N review average comparison since they aren't priced the same and more expensive products tend to get higher review scores from some sources.
