Astro A10 (2018) vs Steelseries Arctis 7 (2016)
Steelseries Arctis 7 (2016)

The Astro A10 (2018) and Steelseries Arctis 7 (2016) make for very strong choices and are great Gaming Headsets for their respective $31 and $224 asking prices. Depending on how much you're willing to spend, either of these options will serve you well.
The Astro A10 (2018) has managed to impress reviewers from some of the most highly trusted sources on the internet, including Rtings and Tom's Guide. It performed great in their in-depth hands-on roundups - it was awarded the "Best Budget Gaming Headphones For Mic Performance" title by Rtings and "The best-looking cheap headset for PS5" by Tom's Guide in their respective Gaming Headset roundups. That's high praise, especially when coming from such high-quality sources.
Moving on to the Steelseries Arctis 7 (2016): it was unable to reach the very top of any roundups from sources that conduct reliable and unbiased testing. Nonetheless, it still managed to impress reviewers from a number of such sites, like PCmag, Headphone Review, TechSpot, Rtings, and realgear.net, enough for them to include them on those lists.
To get a better idea of how they fare when compared directly to each other, we analyzed review scores of sources that tested both. Rtings, for example, preferred the Astro A10 (2018), while PCmag rated both of them the same.
We also took a look at which sources had the best things to say about them. We learned that the Astro A10 (2018) got reviewed the highest by PCmag - it gave it a rating of 9, while the Steelseries Arctis 7 (2016) most impressed reviewers at PCmag, which gave it a score of 9.
Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other Gaming Headsets on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by Gaming Headsets being 7.2 out of 10, whereas the Astro A10 (2018) and Steelseries Arctis 7 (2016) managed averages of 7.7 and 8.2 points, respectively.
Due to the difference in their prices, however, it's important to keep in mind that a direct Astro A10 (2018) vs. Steelseries Arctis 7 (2016) comparison might not be entirely fair - some sources don't take value for money into account when assigning their scores and therefore have a tendency to rate more premium products better.
