TP-Link RE450 AC1750 Plug-In (2015) vs Netgear AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 Mesh Extender (EAX15)

The TP-Link RE450 is one of the very best Wi-Fi Extenders that one can get for around $55. The Netgear AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 Mesh Extender (EAX15), however, while a very good choice at its $160 price point, falls just short of being remarkable.

Returning to the Netgear AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 Mesh Extender (EAX15), PCmag, a source that's known for its high-quality in-depth testing, has great things to say about it. In fact, it was named its "Best Wi-Fi 6 Range Extender for Mesh-Like SSID Sharing" in its "The Best Wi-Fi Range Extenders for 2023" roundup, which is quite a feat.

When we thoroughly analyzed their review scores, we learned that all of the sources that tested both Wi-Fi Extenders, including PCmag, preferred the TP-Link RE450 over the Netgear AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 Mesh Extender (EAX15).

We also took a look at which sources they managed to impress the most. The TP-Link RE450 was liked best by Top Ten Reviews, which gave it a score of 9, while the Netgear AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 Mesh Extender (EAX15) got its highest, 7, score from PCmag.

Lastly, we averaged out all of their review ratings and observed that the TP-Link RE450, with its 8.5 average, performed considerably better than most Wi-Fi Extenders - the mean score for the product category being 7.1 out of 10 - while the Netgear AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 Mesh Extender (EAX15) managed an average of 7.0.
