The Ultimate Ears Hyperboom (2020) managed to impress reviewers from many of the internet's most highly trusted sources, including Tom's Guide, SoundGuys, Wirecutter (NYTimes), CNET, and PCmag. It performed really well in their Portable Bluetooth Speaker roundups - it was named "The best Bluetooth outdoor speaker" by Tom's Guide, "Best for parties" by SoundGuys, and "Also great" by Wirecutter (NYTimes). That's high praise coming from sources that conduct in-depth hands-on testing.

As for the Urbanears Ralis (2019), it wasn't able to earn a top spot in any roundups from trusted sources that conduct their own hands-on testing. Nevertheless, it managed to impress reviewers at Techradar, PCmag, and Wirecutter (NYTimes) enough to make it onto their respective shortlists.

To get a better idea of how they fare when compared directly to each other, we analyzed review scores of sources that tested both. Techradar, for example, preferred the Ultimate Ears Hyperboom (2020), while PCmag rated both of them the same.
