The Vanguard Alta Pro 263AB Tripod is a great Tripod for its $158 asking price.
The Velbon EX-Macro, however, is merely passable at its $39 price point. If you're considering buying a Tripod in the $35 range, you might want to check out some of its competitors.
The Vanguard Alta Pro 263AB Tripod has impressed reviewers from two sources that are among the most highly trusted on the internet, namely TechGearLab and Wirecutter. It did great in their objective hands-on roundups - it earned the "Best for Stability" and "Ranked 1 out of 5" awards from TechGearLab and Wirecutter, respectively. That's high praise from such reputable sources.
As for the Velbon EX-Macro - Digital Camera World, a source that conducts reliable hands-on testing, has featured it in its The best mini tripods in 2023: tabletop camera supports that'll fit in any kit bag roundup. However, it didn't make it to any of the top spots.
Lastly, we tried to do a direct Vanguard Alta Pro 263AB Tripod vs. Velbon EX-Macro comparison of review ratings between these two products, but couldn't find any review scores for the Velbon EX-Macro.
Compared to all other Tripods on the market, however, the Vanguard Alta Pro 263AB Tripod performed great. When averaged out, it earned a rating of 8.2 out of 10, which is much better than the 7.6 review average of Tripods in general.
