HP Omen 27i vs ViewSonic VP3481
The HP Omen 27i 27" is a great Monitor for its $499 asking price.
The ViewSonic VP3481, however, while a reasonable product for $699, doesn't stack up against its competitors quite as well. If you're considering Monitors in the $830 range, you might want to check out some better options.
The HP Omen 27i 27" has managed to impress reviewers from some of the most highly trusted sources on the internet, including Rtings and Tom's Guide. It performed great in their in-depth hands-on roundups - it was awarded the "Best HP Monitor For Office" title by Rtings and "The best 165 Hz gaming monitor" by Tom's Guide in their respective Monitor roundups. That's high praise, especially when coming from such high-quality sources.
As for the ViewSonic VP3481 - it was really well-received by reviewers at PCmag, a great source that's known for conducting high-quality in-depth testing. It performed great in its "The Best Ultrawide Monitors for 2021" roundup and was named its "Best for Graphic Artists, Game Designers on a More Modest Budget", which, on its own, makes it a product that warrants a closer look.
We couldn't find any sources that tested both of these Monitors, so we only analyzed how they performed in reviews from different sites.
We first examined which sources rated each of these best and found that the HP Omen 27i 27" got its highest, 8, rating from Tom's Hardware, while the ViewSonic VP3481 earned its best, 8.4, score from Gadget Review.
Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other Monitors on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by Monitors being 7.3 out of 10, whereas the HP Omen 27i 27" and ViewSonic VP3481 managed averages of 7.9 and 8.2 points, respectively.
Due to the difference in their prices, however, it's important to keep in mind that a direct HP Omen 27i 27" vs. ViewSonic VP3481 comparison might not be entirely fair - some sources don't take value for money into account when assigning their scores and therefore have a tendency to rate more premium products better.
