Huawei P40 (2020) vs Xiaomi Pocophone (2018)
The Huawei P40 (2020) was loved by reviewers at DXOMARK, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "The best smartphones for audio playback and recording 2020" roundup where it was named its "Best for recording memos and meetings", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.
As for our analysis of the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 (2018) - it has done great in a number of roundups done by unbiased sources that conduct their own testing, like Android Authority, 9to5Google, and slashgear.com - it was named "Ranked 3 out of 6" by Android Authority, "Ranked 3 out of 16" by 9to5Google, and "Ranked 3 out of 9" by slashgear.com.
We analyzed all of the review data that we could find on these two Smartphones. First, we examined sources that tested and scored both of these products - Expert Reviews, Techradar, TrustedReviews, and PhoneArena favored the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 (2018) over the Huawei P40 (2020), whereas reviewers at Digitaltrends haven't shown a preference for either.
Then we took a look at which sources liked them the most - we found that the Huawei P40 (2020) was best received by ePHOTOzine - it gave it a score of 10, whereas the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 (2018) got its highest score of 10 from reviewers at Expert Reviews.
Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other Smartphones on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by Smartphones being 7.5 out of 10, whereas the Huawei P40 (2020) and Xiaomi Pocophone F1 (2018) managed averages of 7.8 and 8.5 points, respectively.
Due to the difference in their prices, however, it's important to keep in mind that a direct Huawei P40 (2020) vs. Xiaomi Pocophone F1 (2018) comparison might not be entirely fair - some sources don't take value for money into account when assigning their scores and therefore have a tendency to rate more premium products better.
