The Ultimate Ears Boom 2 (2015) was highly praised by reviewers from numerous sources that perform their own objective hands-on testing, including nextpit.com, Techradar, Android Central, iMore, reviewgeek.com, and Gear Patrol. It did great in their roundups - it was dubbed "Best all-round Bluetooth speaker" by nextpit.com, "Best portable speaker" by Techradar, and "The UE Boom 2 is one of the most popular portable Bluetooth speakers you can buy. It's received glowing reviews from tech reviewers and users alike. If you want a great sounding speaker that you can pair with your NVIDIA Shield TV at home or take with you on any of your adventures, this is a great choice." by Android Central. That alone makes it at least worth considering.
As for the XLeader A8 (2017) - The Sleep Judge, a source that conducts reliable hands-on testing, has featured it in its Best Bedroom Speakers roundup. However, it didn't make it to any of the top spots.
Lastly, we tried to do a direct Ultimate Ears Boom 2 (2015) vs. XLeader A8 (2017) comparison of review ratings between these two products, but couldn't find any review scores for the XLeader A8 (2017).
Compared to all other Portable Bluetooth Speakers on the market, however, the Ultimate Ears Boom 2 (2015) performed great. When averaged out, it earned a rating of 8.8 out of 10, which is much better than the 7.6 review average of Portable Bluetooth Speakers in general.
