The primary goal of the game is to earn as much money as possible while doing as little as possible. Which in and of itself is quite the comment on the current capitalist system in society. Basically this boils down the system to it base form while keeping a sense of humor about it.
Once you get to a certain point, AdVenture Capitalist becomes much more interactive than the average clicker game. You can restart your game and receive "angel investors," which will allow you to buy certain upgrades. The Moon level in particular is one you can constantly re-start and challenge yourself on.
There has been game breaking updates to the game that have wiped players saves and progress. This was never acknowledged by the devs other than rolling back the release.
Users have reported good customer service, which is nice to hear when the game charges in-app purchases as high as $69.99. With that kind of investment people should expect responsive help.
There is no offline generation, so there is no way to earn while the game is closed, seeing as long term players need much time for kills actually advancing will take up much time with the app open and draining battery. This is done to push players into spending real world currency on in game items to speed up the game.
The theme of this clicker game is of course communism, where the player tries to build their empire through utilizing potatoes. While you will eventually move on from using potatoes as the main source of income, the fact that such a silly theme exists for a large portion of the game shows off the sense of humor the creators have.
All of the game features can be unlocked without having to pay for anything. Some perks like "permanent x2 income" can unlocked through IAPs but those are optional. You also can get a lot of money if you choose to watch a 30 seconds ad, but again its optional.
