The font you use in iA Writer is monospaced and unattractive. It might be fine for a programmer, but most authors are going to find issue with it. Sure, you can format the finished product, but while writing, you're stuck with the droll, 90s techie vibe that just doesn't suit most styles of writing.

 $49.99 price tag is too much for any iOS-specific app

The app store sells iA Writer for $49.99 and this price is confirmed when you visit iA Writer's website - ia.net/writer. It's also the most expensive platform they sell the app on, and each platform has its own price and there is no bundle that contains all three. iA.net also does not believe in or use coupons or sales. Ever. So that's the price. Period.
