Ranked in these QuestionsQuestion Ranking
Pro How swappable battery
Over 8 hours of continuous web browsing out of the box, which can be doubled to 16 hours by swapping in the extended, 6-cell battery (hot swap, so the swap can be done while the laptop is on, thereby not interrupting laptop operations). If you really needed to, you could pick up a third or fourth battery as well and keep increasing the battery life.
Pro Amazing keyboard
Lenovo continues to get keyboards right. The keys are recessed in the middle, helping to ensure your fingers always find their way back home. The keyboard is backlit as well
Pro Speakers are loud and clear
While a bit lacking in terms of bass, the speakers get sufficiently loud and retain good clarity.
Pro Very quiet fans
When performing regular daily tasks, the fans almost never started up. Even under a full load, they remained very quiet at just 35 dB(A).
Pro Stays very cool during use
Even under maximum load, the laptop remains comfortably cool. The maximum temperature on the keyboard face is 95F (35C). The bottom gets a warmer at 47C 116F in the middle, but all the edges remain very cool.
Con Below average performance
The i5-5200U and integrated HD Graphics 5500 do a decent job, beating out the competition if just barely. in Cinebench R11.5, it scores 2.85 points. The graphics card is weak, getting beat by nearly all of its competitors. Most games can only be comfortably be played on low settings, an even then some games like Theif run at less than 15FPS.
Con Bad display
The low resolution (1366x768) TN panel isn't the best - or even close to the best available. The 163 nit brightness is very dark, and the black level is higher than most other laptops (0.71 cd/m²). Contrast ratio is very low as well at just 234:1. Viewing angles are poor due to the TN technology used.
Con Lackluster case
The case creaks in some areas, and the build quality isn't on point. Some of the edges don't quite line up, making a sharp point that is irritating to use and look at.
Con Extended dual battery adds weight
6-cell extended battery adds 0.4 pounds to an already hefty laptop (3.5 lb).
