Pro Quality build materials
Brushed aluminum is more rugged and feels better than plastic cases. This metal covers the exterior of the laptop, although when you open it up you'll find plastic. The hinges are strong, although it's hard to open the lid with one hand.
Pro Stays cool when gaming
65 degrees was the highest temperature recorded on the internals - which is very cool. This likely has to do with the thickness of the laptop, as well as the dual fan setup.
Pro Solid keyboard
RGB LED backlights light the keyboard, and the keyboard feels good. Good keytravel, and the backlighting is completely customizable. The keyboard is made by SteelSeries.
Pro Good gaming performance
Virtually all games offer good framerates (50 FPS or higher) on high settings. Tomb Raider can get 113 FPS and Thief runs at 54 FPS. More demanding titles such as GTA V run at 44 FPS, and The Witcher 3 has a poor 23.5 FPS running rate.
Con Sub-par display
The average brightness is 246 cd/m² which is considerably lower than other laptops in this price range. There is also a blue tinge, although with precise calibration you can remedy this. It does have a good contrast ratio (1275:1) and black value (0.2 cd/m²), however the display gets more wrong than it does right.
Con Loud fan noise
The fans are always running - even while idling. While not excessively loud, they can ramp up to 47 dB (A).
Con Poor touchpad
The mousepad doesn't support gesture scrolling, and the click buttons sometimes don't register.
