Ranked in these QuestionsQuestion Ranking
Pro Quality speakers
The two speakers face towards you, provide clear sound, and get loud. The subwoofer provides more bass than most laptops.
Pro User-accessible internals
On the bottom is a hatch that can be removed (2 screws), which will give you access to the RAM, HDD drive, and a M.2 SSD slot. This means that you can add another drive yourself for a fraction of the cost of including one with purchase.
Pro Decent keyboard
1.8mm of travel is good for a laptop, and 3 levels of red back-light. The layout is tight; it includes a number pad which cramps the keyboard a little.
Pro Pretty good gaming performance
You can expect to play all but the most demanding games on high settings at 1080p. Rainbow Six Siege runs at a healthy 55 FPS on high, and Just Cause 3 runs at a playable 33.8 FPS on high settings. On ultra, these titles dip down to 45.6 FPS and 28.9 FPS, respectively.
Regular performance is strong with the i7-6700HQ paired with 16GB of RAM. Everyday tasks will be completed quickly, and multitasking performance will be plentiful for all users - even heavy users.
Con Mediocre screen
While the display doesn't commit any major crimes, the matte TN panel is just average brightness (289 cd/m²), and color deviations are a bit high. Gamma value is also a bit high, and by default the screen has a slight cyan cast (which can be fixed through calibration).
Con Poor battery life
You can expect around 2.5 hours for regular use. When you start playing games this battery life drops down to less than an hour.
Con Lackluster case
The case creaks, and fingerprints are hard to remove. The hinges aren't very strong, resulting in the screen bouncing.
