Pros
Pro Measures air pressure, temperature and humidity
These 3 measurements allow for a pretty complete picture of the current weather. Air pressure lets you track high and low pressure fronts which can indicate good or bad weather conditions respectively, and high humidity is an indication of precipitation as well as a higher humidex (more humid air feels warmer than less humid air at the same temperature).
Pro Suitable for either indoor or outdoor use
The Elgato Eve Weather is designed to be placed either inside or outside. It has IPX3 water resistance certification so you don't need to worry about getting this product wet.
Pro Information displayed in glanceable graphs
For each dataset that the Eve Weather records (air pressure, temperature, humidity), you can see a graph that covers the previous day, month, or year. You can follow these trends, and plan accordingly.
Cons
Con Readings are affected by location
Ideally, this device would be mounted in an open, shaded area within very close proximity to the house for the most accurate sensor readings and best connection. This limits where you can place the device however, and not all homes have an ideal area that will work.
Con Limited range
The Eve Weather uses Bluetooth as its sole communication method. This means that you need to be within Bluetooth range of it in order to connect - unless you have an Apple TV. An Apple TV acts as a bridge between the Bluetooth Eve and Wi-Fi. However, this means that your Apple TV and Eve Weather need to remain within Bluetooth range of each other still, which can be a bit tricky when one product is meant to be inside and one is meant to be outside.
Con iPhone/iPod only
There is no iPad app, Android app, or web app available. Only the iPhone and iPod are supported.
