Pro Support for DOCSIS 3.0
There are several benefits to modems that support DOCSIS 3.0. For starters, due to 8 download and 4 upload channels it can handle network congestion much better. Additionally, DOCSIS 3.0 enables the Arris SURFboard to combine multiple channels together into a single data stream. As such, internet plans up to 150 Mbps can be supported without any issues.
Pro Easy to setup
The Arris SURFboard has a very easy installation process. Simply plug in the Arris, connect the ethernet cable and it's ready to go!
Cons
Con Potential vulnerability
Due to the fact that there is no login page there is a potential for cross scripting attacks to occur. There has been a firmware update to rectify this so make sure that the modem is updated to the latest version. Blocking access to the modem’s configuration page will also help.
Con Short warranty
With respect to the price and features a 1 year warranty should not be a deal breaker. However this is on the low end.
