Pros
Pro Small form factor saves up server case space
This unit is designed to be mounted on a standard 1U rackmount. This is a huge advantage over larger (2U) units as space in the server case is usually very costly. The unit also comes with the tabs and screws needed to mounted it on a 19 inch rack.
Pro Great price
This is a notably inexpensive 1U rackmount 400W UPS. Even the smaller version, the OR500LCDRM1U (300W) costs more than this unit. It's very hard, if not impossible, to find a competitor product below the $200 price range.
Pro Corrects brownouts and surges without switching to battery
The line-interactive topology on the unit allows it to passively “filter out” small voltage surges and brownouts (very short power outages) without even switching to battery. This ensures that the heart of your server—its PSU— won’t wear out quickly.
Cons
Con Requires a rack enclosure to be mounted
This UPS is not designed to operate outside a rack enclosure, as there are no tower mounting brackets included.
Con Battery capacity can't be increased by adding external batteries
The battery capacity of this unit cannot be increased by adding an external battery module. This would have been useful, since the default full load on-battery lifetime of the unit is just a few minutes.
