The "free" version of Visualping offers a specific number of "checks" and it might be ok if you check once a day but their "recomendation" or guide of typical use will exhaust the free checks very quickly.

VP checks for changes in graphics as well as text, and to do so has to frequently download the entire content of a monitored page. If the hosting account has bandwidth limits they can be exceeded very easily if a number of graphics heavy pages are monitored by a number of users.
