Review of Pentax K10d powered by the Slant community.
Introduced in 2007, this CCD sensor camera still produces amazing photos that newer and allegedly better CMOS sensor cameras have trouble replicating. Lots of gently used, inexpensive inventory to be had.

Pros
Pro The value proposition
You can pick up a gently used, complete K-10d system (camera body, grip, batteries, lenses, flash, bag) for between $200 - $300 on the 'Bay. Just be patient.
Pro The CCD sensor
The CCD sensor in the K-10d produces amazing flesh tones. Marry a K-10d with a Pentax FA Limited lens and people will think you are a genius photographer.
Cons
Con Usable ISO tops out at 800
The K-10d is not going to be your low light go-to piece of kit regardless of how fast the lens is. Results at ISO 1600 are not usable. ISO 800 is marginal, and ISO 100-400 generates pleasing results all day long.
