The old gods have forgotten this land. No one could save our people when darkness started spreading and collecting human souls for its army.
Odallus is a classic exploration/action game, inspired by Ghosts’n Goblins, Demon’s Crest and Castlevania. Player takes place of Haggis, a warrior tired of fight who must wield his sword once more to rescue his son from Darkness.

Pros
Pro Challenging boss fights
Boss fights are satisfyingly difficult, striking a good balance of satisfaction and frustration to give you a sense of accomplishment with every boss monster slain.
Pro Old-school aesthetic done well
For the most part, the game uses an intentionally-restricted palette that lends a very specific retro, dark and gloomy look that would not have been possible otherwise.
Pro Well-designed levels
Each level has their own motif and did a good job of ramping up the challenge progressively to provide a satisfying experience.
Cons
Con A little too adherent to old-school jumping mechanics
One of the things that most would not miss from platformers from the NES era is the stiff jumping mechanics that forces players to commit to every jump. This game, unfortunately, also brings that jumping mechanic back from the old era, which can also contribute a bit more to the difficulty.
