Pros
Pro HD is recommended
Totally recommend getting the HD renovation, it updates the graphics a lot, with some small gameplay changes as well. It also adds all DLC as well, such as Karamari Hospital, and The Dollhouse, So if you get the HD version, you don't need to buy the dlc. HD renovation adds 3d models instead of pre-rendered 2d sprites for most things (although it seems to still be a bit of a work in progress, Spooky herself didn't even get a model until last year, which was about 2 years after HD reno was released). Music and sound design is great, and specimen designs are amazing. The notes scattered around the mansion, hospital, and dollhouse give the game an even scarier vibe, as if the people before you didn't survive. If you want the full story, I recommend either buying the hd renovation, or the dlc by themselves, as they add to it all. (the order to play in is Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion (base game) - Karamari Hospital - Dollhouse.
In my opinion, it's a 10/10 great game
Pro Karamari Hospital - great downloadable content
It's not free, but it's worth the 2 dollars.
Pro Endless mode
You can get spooked endlessly.
Pro Every new specimen gets more scarier than the previous
Pro Specimen
All 13 of them are scary and almost every one of them has a jumpscare.
Pro Not very spooky
Instead, it's scary.
Pro Free game
It's free, you don't have to sacrifice your wallet.
Cons
Con Glitches
There are a few glitches in the game, such as specimens/monsters/dolls spawning before they are supposed to, for example: (spoiler below)
In the Dollhouse DLC, the enemy doll "Woormy Charles" can spawn before you enter it's containment area. This is a glitch, as it is stated in the notes in the game that it is locked in the containment, and the door is shut. If you go into the room with a closed canopy bed before going to the containment area, it has a chance of spawning in the hallway if you leave the room. I am not sure if this has been fixed or not, or if it happens to everyone, but it happened to me when I played it.
Other than this, it is a very good game.
Con Specimen 1
If you go through the door to the hallway, there is a 50% chance Specimen 1 will pop-up and scare you, BUT they are just cute cardboard cut-outs with a random (NOT SCREAMING) jump scare sound that will give you a heart attack. They are harmless and won't be a problem throughout the game, but if you're being chased by another Specimen, then good luck not stopping the moment when cute cardboard cut-outs pop-up and scare you while another monster is about to kill you.
Con The endings aren't good
The Bad Ending isn't good, and The Good Ending isn't any better at all.
Con There is only ONE BOSS in this game
Out of all specimen that could be a boss, Specimen 9 steals the cake and is the one and only boss in this game.
Con The most disappointing story ever
The game wants to be scary, a lot of specimen are thrown at the player for that. Unfortunately, the first creatures are rather cute. The game lacks a story besides these creatures turning less cute and more scary.
Con Old specimen 10's death
The old scary floating worm has been replaced with a spaghetti man.
Con Some of specimen are way too slow and others are a downright nightmare to escape
The fast ones: 2, 3, 4, 6 (they move if you don't pay attention), 7, 8, 9 (in a trap room), 10 (second form), 11, and 13.
The slow ones: 5, 6 (they don't move if you pay attention), 10 (first form), and 12.
Con The gameplay is a little repetitive
A big chunk of the game is just running away from an enemy. Of course, there is some occasional change of pace - looking for some item or collecting notes.
