Highly customizable
The G502 gaming mouse has 11 programmable buttons, support for macros and profiles, adjustable weight and center of balance, two scroll wheel modes, and a plethora of settings to customize. In addition to the standard left, right, and scroll wheel buttons, there's a button below the scroll wheel, three thumb buttons, two buttons to the left of the left mouse button and you can tilt the mouse wheel left and right for extra functionality as well. All of these buttons can be programmed to do pretty much whatever you want. The scroll wheel can act as a smooth unhindered scroll or a notched scroll depending on how you want to use it. It has an on-the-fly CPI switch with 5 states and the mouse can store three different macro profiles and can switch between them with a button press. You can also customize the weight of the gaming mouse between 121-139 grams and its center of balance with up to five 3.6 gram weights to adjust how it feels as it moves across your mousepad.

Software is Windows-only
LGS (Logitech Gaming Software) does not have Linux or macOS support, so the mouse cannot be tuned or configured under those operating systems. (Note that the options for on-device profiles are limited compared to using profile on the OS itself)

Somewhat heavy
Being that this is a wireless mouse there is the battery weight to contend with. Batteries in the weight of the device is 152 grams, which isn't all that bad considering but still not for users that like a lighter mouse. The mouse can also be used with a single battery, which is useful for not only reducing weight but also for balancing the mouse. With two batteries the mouse can be a bit slipper on the right side when picking it up as the pinkie and ring fingers don't have as much to grip - but balancing the weight over towards the thumb allows the mice to be more easily picked up as the side buttons allow for a decent place to grip.

Very good build quality
The nestled thumb rest on the left and finger cut outs on the right reduce wear and tear due to unnecessary hand movement. The matte rubberized finish to the mouse also aids in hiding cosmetic wear, even after years of use. Additional features include smooth teflon feet which allow for little wear on the bottom of the mouse, and a braided cable that protects the wire from rips and tears.

Just as reliable as a wired mouse
The G900’s transmitter performs well enough that it’s almost indistinguishable from other wired mice, in some cases even surpassing them in click latency tests. This, combined with its high quality sensor, makes it a great wireless option for a gaming mouse.
Top
Con
Limited thumb buttons
Those switching from the G700 will find that they are going from 4 thumb buttons to two. Yes, the G900 allows for customizable side buttons of up to 2 on each side, but those who like to have more than 2 thumb buttons for gaming (especially MMOs) may find this hard to adapt to.

Excellent sensor
The Logitech G900 uses a PMW 3366, a virtually flawless sensor that doesn’t alter movement in any way. It is seen as a slight upgrade to the FK1’s sensor but the differences are so minor that any improvement is only marginal.
