Pros
Pro Smooth blending of feel for Firefly/Mass Effect/Galactica
The rules are familiar enough that they don’t get in the way like they do with some other sci-fi rules systems. Space combat seems to flow better than other systems. The setting presented seems much like the mass effect universe prior to reapers.
Pro Familiar 5th edition rule set
Based on D&D 5th edition rules for familiarity by many RPG players.
Pro Sci-fi/Fantasy setting
This setting has a great sci-fi/fantasy setting feel with space travel, lasers, ships, and aliens, but also magic-like powers and psionics.
Pro The book's construction is very solid
Pages are thick and sturdy. No binding issues.
Pro Class and race options are fun and well-balanced
Pro Really creatve creatures and new, but familiar, sci-fi villians
Cons
Con This is just an exceptionally bad reskin of 5E.
It's just terribly reskinned 5E. The classes are literally just 5E classes with the serial numbers filed off and a scifi paintjob. The Engineer, for example, is just a cleric in disguise. There's no undead in space, so they turn robots instead. There's a space warlock, a space ranger, a space paladin, a space fighter, a space wizard etc.
Con Equipment options in the core book are kinda meh
No oxygen mask / filtered re-breather or way for players to deal with vacuum/toxic environments as purchasable equipment in the Core manual.
