Dumb wheels

IKEA had the brilliant idea to make the wheels easy to roll while you sit in the chair but to have them lock out when you arise from the chair. This means that when you first get out of the chair, there's a chance you'll kick the chair over with your legs. This also means that if you get up from your chair because you want to move your chair to a different room, it will be needlessly difficult.
