Ranked in these QuestionsQuestion Ranking
Pros
Pro Quiet motor
Much less noise and whine while climbing.
Pro Build quality
Handlebars, headset, BB, rims, and hubs are all good quality. Never had an issue with bontrager components, a little on the heavy side but strong and dependable.
Pro Feels like a normal mountain bike on the decents
You really don't feel the motor or battery in corners, excellent weight distribution, although it is still a very heavy bike.
Cons
Con Hard to jump
You will notice the extra weight in the air, especially with 29in wheels it tends to go in one direction after takeoff.
Con Proprietary motor and controller
Most e-bikes will use Bosch, Shimano, or Bafang motors and controllers. This uses trek's inhouse design, a lot of bike shops may not have the diagnostic tools or parts.
Con Expensive
Honestly it is not a good value, nor will it hold that value. Only recommended if you have a lot of disposable income.
