Ranked in these QuestionsQuestion Ranking
Pro Persistent chat rooms
You can text chat in a chat room (or up to 5 if you have GameVox Premium). Messages are saved, and can be accessed by anybody - even people who join after the messages were sent.
Pro Conveniently connect by text without a server
For those that are not connected to a server but still need to communicate with their group there is a text service that will work regardless.
Pro Easily viewable information in-game
Gamevox has an overlay for when the player is in a game that allows you to see who is talking in your current channel without having GameVox application visible.
Pro Easily styled for a group *Paid Version
For those that would like to customize the look of their server window for a group there is a feature that allows for a custom theme that when applied is automatic for every user when they join (available with the paid version only).
Pro Server owner protection
As a server owner you are guaranteed full access to your server at all times. Your administrator permissions can never be taken away by anyone else, which can be a problem with other services.
Pro Free unlimited access
There is no need to worry about having enough capacity or bandwidth as GameVox is unlimited for everyone for free, which creates a good service for those that do not wish to pay or game in really large groups.
Pro Uninterupted service with DDoS mitigation
For those that are wary of malicious users there is DDoS mitigation included with the app that means it will stay up and running no matter what.
Works on Windows, Linux and Mac as an actual native application.
Pro Easily embedded server info in a website
User can add a widget to their website that shows who is online on the server, so for teams with their own site this is an easy way to check in on who is on at that specific time.
Pro Earned bragging rights
Users can indicate special qualifications or abilities outside of the voice server with user badges. This gives a sense of bragging rights and allows others to see who is a prominent user.
Pro Has a RESTful Application Programming Interface (API)
Standard and Premium servers can use the API to:
Move users, change badges, change settings -- almost everything you can do from inside the client but remotely.
Allow users to log in with their GameVox account on your website or in your application.
Track GameVox attendance for raids or matches automatically
Post updates to your GameVox server when someone gets an achievement in your game (Billy just found Diamonds!)
Automatically send tweets to your GameVox server or channel chat
Update user badges when a user changes teams or classes inside of your game
Con Limited locations described as "NA", "EU" and Asia Pacific
Only North America, Europe and Asia Pacific locations have servers. The location isn't specific either, meaning players on the West coast of North America could have a server on the East coast, which can cause latency. If service went down you would have to change to another continent as there are no other closer options.
Con No Mobile version yet
While many other clients offer apps for Mobile Gamevox does not offer any yet, which limits those that want to communicate with friends on mobile.
Con Poor adoption
Sadly the adoption rate is still low for the service which means you won't not find many of your friends using it. Generally, if people are content with one voice chat option, it's hard to get them to switch or download another one.
Con Gamevox owner shady
Con A knockoff
It's mumble with a bad UI on top and few features.
