The pump used in this coffee maker is not meant to be used with water, it's meant for air. In fact, it is sold in the automotive industry to inflate seat cushions. This is apparently why the unit breaks so quickly.
Con Occasional air bubble issues
Sometimes an air bubble can get stuck in the pump and bring brewing to a halt. This can be fixed easily by restarting the machine.
