Unica was designed in the 1970s by Team ’77 (André Gürtler, Christian Mengelt and Erich Gschwind) for the now defunct Haas Type Foundry. Back then it was only implemented for on-screen phototypesetting as desktop publishing wasn't there yet. Unfortunately there was a legal dispute that prevented an authorized digital implementation until 2012. With Unica77 LL there is now an implementation supported by the expertise of Christian Mengelt, one of the original designers. See More
