The 23 MP sensor, wide lens and laser autofocus system brings very impressive results. The camera captures plenty of detail, but may lack some saturation (though it’s easy enough to fix in post-processing).
The auto mode nails the settings correctly most of the time. The autofocus works great even with moving objects, as the camera continuously tracks the object to maintain a sharp image.
Because of the compact size and the rounded sides, the phone feels very comfortable even if you have small hands. The 4.6-inch screen is just the right size for one-handed use.
The phone’s outer case is made with a glossy plastic that mimics a ceramic look. Unfortunately, the glossy finish is a fingerprint magnet and scratches easily over time.
Zen UI, the custom skin Asus loads over their phones is a cluttered mess that overwhelms most users. There's plenty of features that are better turned off and you have to spend time to do so at first.
Benchmarks show that the battery for the Zenfone 3 lasts around 16 hours on average on a single charge. This should be more than enough for a typical day.
