Google Slides, I admit, is probably one of the easiest presentation programs I have ever used, with an easy-to-use UI and powerful collaboration features. However, with simplicity comes many downsides. Google slides lacks in countless features that would be offered in a desktop presentation program like libreoffice or freeoffice and also a lot less flexible, including keyboard shortcuts for efficient editing and slide and object animations. Keyboard shortcuts are limited but that is because of browser limitations, however, animations are bland and limited compared to the industry standard powerpoint, for example. On the note of animations, they are constantly laggy and delayed, especially on older devices, because of its relatively high resource demands. Another aspect often overlooked by many is data privacy. As a Google product, your data becomes their's. Overall, I would not use google slides for presentations. If you want to create a more advanced presentation, consider trying libreoffice impress or reveal.js and if you need collaboration, onlyoffice does it well. See More
