Pros
Pro Plugins Galore
It's ubiquitous, there is a plugin for just about everything (not just PYTHON). So if you need your JSON laid out and decoded whilst you are carving the code, open another tab and crank up the JSON plugin (for example). AND you can write your own. AND it's not just PYTHON. This is a very underrated (free) application.
