Pros
Pro Interesting card management
Each turn you're given the opportunity to play five cards however you'd like. Cards serve several purposes including combat and movement, so choosing whether you want to use your cards to kill monsters for their valuable loot, move deeper into the dungeon, or trade them in for new cards is completely up to you. Additionally, specific and powerful cards can be purchased at special merchants scattered around the dungeon so there's a little control in how you build your deck and manage your playing hand.
Pro Suspenseful thanks to the dragon mechanic
Clank! is great at creating suspense as there's always a random chance to wake up the dragon at the end of every turn. If one of the cards you played has a certain symbol on it, it will alert him to your presence, and you will incite his anger and have to determine your fate by drawing from a bag of colored cubes. If the cube is black, you are safe for the time being, but if you draw a colored cube you will take damage. Never knowing if the dragon will wake up or if he will damage you adds a lot of tension to your dungeon run.
Pro Tense race for loot
Whenever any player returns to the dungeon's entrance with an artifact, it begins a 5 round countdown to the game's end. Any player caught still inside the dungeon at the end of this countdown is instantly killed. This creates a tense environment where players are forced to scramble for loot before the time runs out, playing whatever combat and movement cards they have at their disposal, while making sure not to overextend.
Pro Lots of fun items to add to gameplay
Each turn, you have an opportunity to spend the gold you've looted throughout your run on some special items which enhance gameplay and give you an advantage over your friends in fun ways. There are keys which allow you to moved through locked passages, a backpack that lets you store an extra artifact, and crowns which give you extra points when the score is tallied up at the end of the game.
Cons
Con Game might drag on
During gameplay, provided they aren't killed by the dangers of the dungeon, players can take as long as they want to search for loot. It's not until the first player exits the dungeon with their accumulated points and treasures that the countdown to the end of the game begins.
