There's a battery button on the back of the device. You have to manually turn it on or off to use and charge. This is due to the battery being used while the power is off on the unit, so the manufacturers have given an option to conserve battery by turning the battery completely off on its own. See More
I've tried several bluetooth speakers around the same price and this has the best and loudest sound out of all of them. By far. The speaker gets very loud without losing too much of the sound quality so it's great for small-ish parties at home or in your backyard. The bungee strap is really useful when on the go or in the pool using the floatie that comes with the speaker. See More
The Soundlink Mini uses software to make sure there is no distortion on the device meaning that when you go louder the software will quit the music some, which makes for a more even sound, though means that you can not go as loud as some other devices. See More
The charging port is proprietary, which means you need to carry around the charger in order to charge it (instead of using a standard mico usb which is often used in electronics now). This also means if the cord is lost another will have to be purchased, which will be hard to find and costly. See More
Due to the single driver there is no stereo sound, this effects the range of bass and treble which makes for a poorer experience than stereo speakers available. It is also attributed to the size of the speakers where most small speakers like this will have trouble with certain ranges. See More
