From crafting guides/videos, themed servers and YouTube play sessions, there is enough out there to help anyone find what they are looking for.
Pro Enthralling and unpredictable gameplay makes for thrilling gaming sessions
Exploring and fighting expands on a game with a randomly generated world. Never knowing what's going to happen next or what the player will find makes for a game that many will want to explore . There are hard bosses and even multiple dimensions to explore, and it is all a sandbox experience that the player formulates as they go along. This makes it all the more thrilling, never knowing what the next session will bring.
Pro Extendable through downloadable mini-games, which make for flexible gameplay
Due to its vast community, Minecraft has a wide variety of community server mini-games available for download, which can tailor to different sizes of groups. These mini-games will range from easy to difficult and allow for tailored use depending on what the player looking for in their mini-game needs.
Pro Easy crafting and understanding on PC
It has a nice HUD with all the craftings possible to be made in the game, unlocking more as you progress and giving you an overall more understanding of the game. Old normal crafting is still an option for all the beta players that started playing minecraft back in the days.
Pro Randomly generated worlds and distinct locations keep the gameplay fresh
Each new world is randomly generated, making for a different experience every time. There can be plains, rivers, beaches, ravines, giant mountains, hidden villages, and a lot more.
There are also 38 biomes, which includes snow, desert, forest, swamp among others. Each one has its own set of unique blocks, plant life, and creatures.
You won't get tired of exploring above ground or underground because every location will seem new and exciting.
Pro Great creativity tool
If you prefer building, creative mode is the way to go. It immediately gives you unlimited blocks, the ability to fly, and immortality. This allows you to easily build anything you want without worrying about height or enemies. Things like giant castles, villages, roller coasters, and even unique builds such as the Enterprise from Star Trek. You can really let your creativity loose.
Pro Iconic design is defined by the games originality
There are not many games that have become so iconic due to their original characteristics. While other voxel games existed before it, Minecraft is the game whose imagery of voxels has created a whole genre of voxel based games due to how iconic it looks.
Pro Amazing extended community
The community surrounding this game is huge due to its popularity. There are lots of servers and projects revolving around it that allow for so many different choices in how one wants to play and who they want to play with. From crafting guides/videos, themed servers and YouTube play sessions, there is enough out there to help one find what they are looking for.
Cons
Con Steep and time-consuming learning curve on PC
Learning what items are needed in order to craft other objects takes quite a bit of knowledge and time on the PC version. There are guides and videos online that can help with this, but not much in-game that helps the player.
Con Multitude of versions can be confusing
Make sure to plan how you will set up the LAN game (or other). There are multiple versions and they are not all compatible: Minecraft (Original Java/PC), MinecraftPE (mobile and other), Minecraft Pi (free but based on older alpha version), Minecraft Windows10 edition, & Minecraft Education Edition. Most common for LAN play would be Minecraft (Original/Java version) paired with a bukkit LAN server.
Con Lack of meaningful story mode
There is no story mode in Minecraft: there is only a create mode or a survival mode. Neither, however, supply any kind of story or background in regard to what is going on in the game.
